The Sentry is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) investigative and policy team that follows the dirty money connected to war criminals and transnational war profiteers. By disrupting the cost-benefit calculations of those who hijack governments for self-enrichment, we seek to counter the main drivers of conflict and create new leverage for peace, human rights, and good governance. The Sentry is composed of financial investigators, international human rights lawyers, and regional experts, as well as former law enforcement agents, intelligence officers, policymakers, investigative journalists, and banking professionals.

Policy Advisor, Illicit Finance Policy (Azerbaijan)

The Sentry seeks a highly motivated and hard-working individual to join the organization as a part-time Policy Advisor of Illicit Finance Policy (Azerbaijan). The Policy Advisor will serve as an Azerbaijan-focused corruption and illicit finance lead, working closely with the illicit finance policy team. The Policy Advisor will lead the organization’s efforts on the strategic use of various targeted financial pressures to disrupt and ultimately dismantle kleptocratic networks and illicit financial flows.

Researcher or Senior Researcher, Research and Data Team

The Sentry seeks a Researcher or Senior Researcher to join our Research and Data Team in the Investigations Department. They will play a crucial role in supporting investigations and strengthening investigative tools and methodologies across programs to hold accountable transnational predatory networks that finance conflict, fund kleptocracies, and destroy the environment. This includes rigorous research for investigations that tell compelling stories, identify perpetrators, reveal systemic challenges, and provide scope for policy action, as well as developing follow-on products from investigations.
